BUCHAREST, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Russia's Gazprom plans to cut its 0.2 million cubic metres natural gas daily deliveries to Romania via Ukraine by 9 percent on Saturday and by 5 percent on Sunday, Energy Minister Razvan Nicolescu said on Friday.
"We've been notified by Gazprom's office in Sofia that they're going to cut the volumes on Saturday and on Sunday," Nicolescu told reporters.
He said the firm offered no reason for the planned moves, and that volumes imported currently from Russia are minor, compared to Romania's consumption of 16 million cubic metres on Friday and its production from domestic wells of 31 million.
But he added he expected oil and gas group OMV Petrom and state-controlled Romgaz to maintain "high gas production levels." (Reporting by Radu Marinas; Editing by Michael Urquhart)
