BUCHAREST, Aug 13 (Reuters) - Romania's state-owned gas pipeline operator Transgaz posted a 117 percent annual rise in its first half net profit to 294 million lei ($88.7 million), below forecast, company data showed on Wednesday.
Analysts at SSIF Broker in Bucharest had expected a net profit of 325 million lei. Transgaz said it recorded a net profit of 135 million lei in the same period of 2013.
Transgaz shares on the Bucharest bourse closed 0.72 percent up on the day at 211 lei ($63.7) per share. ($1 = 3.3141 Romanian lei) (Reporting by Radu Marinas)
