EU says will defend its airlines carbon law

BRUSSELS Feb 22 (Reuters) - The European Commission reiterated on Wednesday it was standing by its law forcing all airlines using EU airports to pay for their carbon emissions after a Moscow meetings of nations opposed to it agreed to a series of retaliatory steps. ID:nL5E8DM31W]

The Commission was also confident that if any nation launched a formal dispute procedure at the U.N.'s International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the body would find in the EU's favour, Isaac Valero-Ladron, EU spokesman for climate action, told a regular press briefing.
