Vestas gets 100 MW turbines order in China

* Vestas gets order for 50 of its 2 MW turbines

* Deliveries scheduled for Q2-Q3

COPENHAGEN, May 3 (Reuters) - Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas (VWS.CO: Quote) has received an order from the fiercely competitive Chinese market for 50 turbines with total capacity of 100 megawatts.

The Vestas V90-2.0 MW turbines for a wind power project in Shandong Province were scheduled to be delivered in the second and third quarters, Vestas Wind Systems A/S said on Tuesday.

Vestas did not disclose the value of the order or the name of the customer. The announcement came a day before Vestas was due to report first-quarter results. (Editing by Dan Lalor)
