UPDATE 1-Tanzania inflation rises to 5.3 percent in September

DAR ES SALAAM, Oct 9 (Reuters) - Tanzania’s inflation rate rose in September as increases in food prices rose, the state statistics office said on Monday.

The inflation rose to 5.3 percent year-on-year in September from 5.0 percent a month earlier.

The food and non-alcoholic beverages inflation rate increased to 9.3 percent in September from 8.6 percent in August.
