Aircraft debris spotted off Comoros:ASECNA
MORONI (Reuters) - Search and rescue planes have spotted debris from a Yemeni Airbus A310-300 that crashed into the sea in bad weather off the Indian Ocean archipelago of Comoros, a regional air security body said on Tuesday.
"The planes have seen debris at the supposed point of impact," said Ibrahim Kassim, an ASECNA official in Comoros.
"We still don't have any news on the passengers," he told Reuters by phone from the airport in Moroni, the capital of the main island of the archipelago.
ASECNA -- the Agency for Aviation Security and Navigation in Africa and Madagascar -- covers Francophone Africa.
