Venezuela plans to open micro bank in Angola
LUANDA (Reuters) - Venezuela plans to open a branch of development bank Bandes in Angola next year to provide micro-credit, its ambassador to the southern African state said on Thursday.
"We will have a Venezuelan bank here in Angola," Jesus Alberto Garcia said in commments broadcast on Radio Nacional de Angola. "This is one of the main things President Chaves wants to do with Africa."
He said Venezuela had already opened a branch of Bandes in the Republic of Mali and in Damascus, Syria.
"We also want to do this in Angola. I think next year we will open a Bandes bank here but everything depends on our discussions with the (Angolan) government," Garcia said.
