RABAT (Reuters) - Moroccan consumer prices rose 0.4 percent last month from a year earlier as the decline of food prices was outdone by other prices rises, the state High Planning Commission said on Thursday.

Food prices, which account for more than 40 percent of the inflation gauge, fell 0.2 percent while non-food prices grew 0.9 percent, it added.

On a monthly basis, inflation fell 1.1 percent in October compared with the previous month on a 2.4 percent decline in food prices, the Commission said.

The government expects end-year inflation to come in at around 2 percent this year after 3.9 percent last year -- the highest level in 10 years, mainly due to high food and oil prices.
