ALGIERS (Reuters) - Algerian Energy Minister Chakib Khelil said on Monday he expected an oil price of $80 per barrel or slightly higher by the end of this year and said OPEC will likely leave output targets unchanged at its meeting this month.

"I think if the economy strengthens, and I think it is ... we should see by the end of the year (prices in) the low end of the $80s and I think that's a fair price," Khelil told Reuters in an interview.

Asked what the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries will decide at its meeting in Vienna on March 17, Khelil said: "Most probably I think the status quo in terms of maintaining the present quotas, probably asking for more compliance."
