S.Africa's NUM union says signs deal ending wage strike at coal producer Exxaro

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South Africa’s National Union of Mineworkers has signed a three-year wage deal with Exxaro Resources, ending a one-week strike by 1,800 miners at the company’s Grootegeluk and Leeuwpan coal mines, the union said on Friday.

NUM said in a statement that the agreement will see wage hikes of between 7.5 and 10 percent. Inflation is currently running at 4.8 percent.
