Nigeria's all-share index .LAGLG rises for a fifth straight day, up 1.2 percent to 22,501 points, lifted mostly by banking stocks.
United Bank for Africa (UBA.LG: Quote) leads the advancers, gaining the maximum five percent, while energy firm Total TOTL.LG and First City Monument Bank (FCMB.LG: Quote) equally advance by 5 percent.
Zenith Bank ZETH.LG, Guaranty Trust Bank GTB.LG, Oceanic Bank OCBK.LG, Diamond Bank DIAM.LG and First Bank FBNP.LG all rise and together account for 53 percent of traded volume.
Construction firm Julius Berger JUBR.LG and Flour Mills of Nigeria FMNL.LG are also sharp risers, up nearly 5 percent. Continued...
