Northam to resume operations at S.Africa mine
JOHANNESBURG Jan 12 (Reuters) - Northam Platinum (NHMJ.J: Quote) will resume operations at its Zondereinde mine in South Africa on Thursday after a worker was killed in an accident a few days earlier, a company spokeswoman said.
Northam suspended operations at the mine on Monday to investigate the cause of the Sunday accident.
"The night shift is going down tonight, so operations will resume as of tomorrow," Marion Brower told Reuters on Wednesday.
The mining group said on Monday it may lose up to 1,000 PGMs ounces per day as a result of the suspended operations. (Reporting by Gugulakhe Lourie; Editing by Jon Herskovitz)
