CORRECTED-Polish firms plan 400-600 mln euros coal gasification project

WARSAW, April 20 (Reuters) - Polish state-run firms Tauron Polska Energia and Grupa Azoty signed a letter of intent regarding cooperation over a planned coal gasification project worth 400-600 million euros ($430 million-$645 million), Azoty said on Thursday.

Azoty said in a statement that the project is aimed at diminishing the negative influence which coal and chemical industries pose for the environment. ($1 = 0.9298 euros) (Reporting by Marcin Goclowski; Editing by Justyna Pawlak and David Evans)
