PARIS, Feb 5 (Reuters) - French state-controlled utility EDF said on Friday it had installed four new steam generators at its 1,300 megawatt (MW) Paluel 2 nuclear reactor but ongoing technical work meant restarting the plant had been delayed to June from April.
The operator of France’s 58 nuclear reactors said it was conducting welding work associated with the generators.
A spokeswoman said the ongoing work meant restarting the reactor would now be delayed until June 5.
It had been scheduled to restart on April 15, after several previous postponements.
The Paluel 2 reactor went offline in May 2015 for its 10-yearly overhaul. But a 450-tonne steam generator crashed onto the reactor floor during the work, causing extensive damage. (Reporting by Bate Felix; Editing by Laurence Frost and Edmund Blair)
