Sinopec says pipeline fire cuts off 9.8 mln cubic meters of gas to industrial users

BEIJING, July 20 (Reuters) - China’s Sinopec said on Wednesday that is has cut off 9.8 million cubic meters of gas supply to industrial users following a landslide and fire on a pipeline in the country’s central region.

The company is coordinating with fellow state-owned energy firm PetroChina to arrange an emergency daily supply of 5 million cubic meters of gas for residential users, it said in a posting on its official microblog.

Sinopec said earlier that the central China section of its main Sichuan-East China gas pipeline was hit by a landslide and caught fire.
