LONDON, July 20 (Reuters) - Libya’s 340,00 barrel-a-day El Sharara oilfield, its largest, has been shut down since Friday, three sources with knowledge of the matter told Reuters.
Production from the field has stopped due to a valve closure on the pipeline linking the field to Zawiya, one of the sources said.
“They have shut (it) down as the pressure in the pipe was building until they find out what is going on,” he said.
El Sharara crude is transported to the Zawiya port, also home to a refinery. (Reporting By Ahmed Ghaddar Editing By Maha El Dahan and Gareth Jones)
