Petrobras oil and gas output rises in April

RIO DE JANEIRO, May 16 (Reuters) - Oil production at Brazil’s Petroleo Brasileiro SA rose 1 percent last month to 2.09 million barrels per day (BPD) on average, the state-run oil company said on Wednesday.

Gas production increased 1.2 percent to 79 million cubic meters per day in April compared to the prior month. Petrobras said the pickup was spurred by the conclusion of maintenance on a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit in the Lula field and the start to production on an FPSO in the Buzios field, both in the Santos offshore pre-salt basin.
