Brazil may up total grain production as corn output rises - Conab

SAO PAULO, Oct 11 (Reuters) - Brazilian farmers are expected to harvest between 233.55 million tonnes and 238.54 million tonnes of grains in the 2018/19 season that kicked off this September, the government said on Thursday, as corn farmers are likely to increase output and soy farmers look to harvest another bumper crop.

In the prior season, Brazilian farmers collected some 227.91 million tonnes of grains like soybeans and corn, Conab said. Brazil’s corn output is expected to rise as much as 12.75 percent to 91.08 million tonnes, the government’s food and statistics agency said.
