Senegal delays oil licensing round by a month

CAPE TOWN, Oct 9 (Reuters) - West Africa’s Senegal, considered a frontier petroleum market, on Wednesday delayed the anticipated launch of its oil and gas licensing round to Nov. 4 due to contract documents needing to be finalised, the oil minister Mahamadou Makhtar Cisse said.

The licensing round will be open for six months and will seek developers for ten to twelve offshore fields, Mamadou Faye, managing director of national oil company Petrosen told Reuters on the sidelines of an oil and power conference in Cape Town.
