TABLE-China's Sept power consumption falls 0.2 pct on year

Oct 20 (Reuters) - China's power consumption in September fell 0.2 percent
from a year earlier to 456.3 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), figures from the
country's National Energy Administration (NEA) showed.
The year-on-year growth rate has fallen into negative territory after rising
1.9 percent in August, driven mainly by a slowdown in industrial activity.
Consumption in the first nine months of the year reached 4.134 trillion kWh,
0.8 percent higher than the same period in 2014.
According to official data released on Monday, China generated 454.78
billion kilowatt-hours of power in September, down 3.1 percent on year.
Generation for the first three quarters hit 4.199 trillion kWh, up 0.1 percent.

The China Electricity Council, an industrial association for power
generators, has revised its electricity demand growth forecast for 2015 to 1
percent from its previous estimate of 2 percent, blaming weaker-than-expected
economic growth, state news agency Xinhua said on Tuesday.
Following is a breakdown of China's power consumption and other data for
August, posted on the administration's website (www.nea.gov.cn).
