Hundreds of protesters close off main road in north Khartoum

KHARTOUM, Jan 22 (Reuters) - Hundreds of protesters blocked a main road in one of Khartoum’s most populous neighbourhoods on Tuesday, witnesses said, as Sudanese police fired teargas to try to disperse the crowd.

Protesters chanted “how much does a martyr’s blood cost?” and called for President Omar al-Bashir to step down, continuing protests that began on Dec 19.
