Ivory Coast military seals land, air, sea borders

ABIDJAN, Dec 2 (Reuters) - Ivory Coast’s military announced on Thursday it had sealed land, air and sea borders after opposition leader Alassane Ouattara was named winner of an election in results contested by President Laurent Gbagbo.

“The air, land and sea borders of the country are closed to all movement of people and goods from today, Dec. 2 2010 from 8.00 p.m. until further notice,” military spokesman Babri Gohourou said in an announcement. “The runway of the (military) air base of Abidjan is also restricted by this measure.
