LONDON, Feb 26 (Reuters) - Saudi Aramco’s chief executive said on Tuesday that the Safaniya oilfield was back online, after what industry sources had said was a partial shutdown earlier this month.
Amin Nasser, CEO of Aramco, made the comment in London at an industry event.
Safaniya is the largest offshore oilfield in the world, with a capacity of more than 1 million barrels per day. It produces heavy crude oil.
Reuters reported on Friday, citing two trade sources, that Aramco had finished repairs at the field, allowing full output to resume. (Reporting by Rania El Gamal; Writing by Alex Lawler; Editing by Dale Hudson)
