Poland seeks money for coal-fuelled plant outside Europe

WARSAW, Nov 21 (Reuters) - Polish state-run utilities Enea and Energa may seek financing for their planned coal-fuelled power plant in Ostroleka outside Europe, Enea’s chief executive said on Thursday.

Enea and Energa plan to build a 1 GW plant in north-east Poland at the cost of around 6 billion zlotys ($1.55 billion), but struggle to secure the financing as more banks across Europe refuse to back coal-related projects.
