ABU DHABI, Jan 28 (Reuters) - Emirates Telecommunications Company (ETEL.AD) said on Friday it is suspending services in some areas of Egypt on directives from the authorities as widespread protests continue in the country.
Etisalat Misr, is the Egyptian unit of Etisalat, the state-owned telecoms major of the United Arab Emirates.
“The authorities had told all mobile operators on Friday to suspend services in selected areas of the country,” a statement from Etisalat said.
Etisalat Misr would comply with the order, the statement added.
