Egypt foreign reserves rise to $44.2 bln at end-June -central bank

CAIRO, July 5 (Reuters) - Egypt’s foreign reserves rose to $44.258 billion at the end of June from $44.139 billion a month earlier, the central bank said in a statement on Thursday.

The reserves have been climbing since Egypt secured a $12 billion, three-year International Monetary Fund loan programme in 2016 as part of efforts to attract foreign investors and revive its ailing economy. (Reporting by John Davison; editing by John Stonestreet)
