BEIJING, June 2 (Reuters) - PetroChina plans to shut down a 100,000 barrel-per-day crude distillation unit in its Lanzhou refinery from June 20 for nearly one-month maintenance, an industry source said on Thursday.
Lanzhou refinery will also shut down a 3.0 million tonne-per-year (tpy) residual fluid catalytic cracker (RFCC), a 1.2 million tpy diesel hydrotreating unit and a 600,000 tpy continuous reformer for maintenance, the source said.
It is a major maintenance conducted once in three or four years, he added.
Another 110,000 bpd CDU will keep running. Thus, crude runs of the refinery would be cut to 189,800 bpd in June, down from 207,220 bpd in May, the source said.
In May, it finished maintenance of a 1.4 million tpy fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) unit. Currently, a 1.2 million tpy coking unit and a 600,000 gasoline and diesel hydrotreating unit are under maintenance and will resume operation around June 20, he said.
Lanzhou, in the landlocked province of Gansu, has a total refining capacity of 280,000 bpd, but one of its crude distillation units was not in use mainly due to a lack of crude oil.
Most of the crude it processed was from the neighbouring Xinjiang region.
