Australia's flood to exceed 1974 deluge in coming days

CANBERRA, Jan 11 (Reuters) - Flooding in Brisbane, Australia’s third largest city, was likely to exceed level of the deadly 1974 floods over the coming days, as high tides intensified already high water levels, Queensland state Premier Anna Bligh told reporters on Tuesday.

“I’m afraid we have some very bad news. Ipswich and Brisbane are facing their greatest threat and their toughest test in more than 35 years,” Bligh said.
