South African bond yields fall after Gordhan calms markets

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South African government bond yields fell across the curve on Tuesday, extending the previous session’s rally after new finance minister Pravin Gordhan assured markets the Treasury would remain fiscally responsible.

By 0723 GMT, the yield on the benchmark 2026 issue had shed 13 basis points to 9.87 percent.
