Ivory Coast 2018 gold output falls 3.5 pct due to strikes

ABIDJAN, April 10 (Reuters) - * Gold production in Ivory Coast dropped to 24.5 tonnes last year from 25.4 tonnes in 2017, in part due to strikes at the Tongon mine, government spokesman Sidi Toure said on Wednesday. * Manganese output rose to 791,000 tonnes from 510,000 tonnes over the same period. * Turnover in the mining sector rose to 582.3 billion CFA francs ($1 billion) in 2018, compared with 539 billion in 2017. * Investments in the sector hit 268 billions CFA francs, Toure said.
