Kenyan shilling rises to a five week high against the dollar

NAIROBI, Jan 17 (Reuters) - The Kenyan shilling rose
to its highest level in just over five weeks on Wednesday,
benefiting from a globally weak dollar, traders said.
At 0857 GMT, commercial banks quoted the shilling at
102.80/103.00 per dollar, compared with 102.95/103.05 at
Tuesday's close. It last traded at that level on Dec. 7.
The dollar was broadly weak, sticking near a three year low
against a basket of currencies.
