Minor damage caused by fire at Libyan refinery

TRIPOLI, Feb 10 (Reuters) - A small fire at Libya’s Zawiya refinery caused minor damage to some cables, the refining company ARC said on Saturday.

The fire broke out late on Friday as workers were preparing maintenance and cleaning works but was brought under control within half an hour, ARC, which is part of state oil firm NOC, said in a statement. Nobody was injured.

It gave no production figures but the refinery, located west of Tripoli, usually produces 120,000 barrels of day and supplies western libya with fuel products. (Reporting by Ahmed Elumami; Writing by Ulf Laessing; Editing by Richard Balmforth)
