Rebels say 9 killed in attack on Libya's Zintan

ALGIERS, June 13 (Reuters) - Nine people were killed on Sunday when forces loyal to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi bombarded the rebel-held town of Zintan with artillery and rockets, a rebel spokesman said on Monday.

“There were nine martyrs from the bombardment ... yesterday. More than 40 others were wounded,” the spokesman, called Abdulrahman, told Reuters by telephone from Zintan. “It was the heaviest bombardment in several weeks.” (Reporting by Hamid Ould Ahmed; Writing by Christian Lowe; Editing by Andrew Heavens)
