Heavy gunfire rings out in Mali capital

BAMAKO, March 21 (Reuters) - Heavy gunfire rang out in the centre of Mali’s capital Bamako on Wednesday, a Reuters correspondent said.

The correspondent heard up to 10 minutes of automatic gunfire coming from close to the state radio building. Earlier, Mali deployed armoured vehicles to seal off its presidential palace after gunshots were heard at a military barracks outside Bamako. (reporting by David Lewis; writing by Mark John)
