Mauritius inflation jumps to 4.2 percent in December

PORT LOUIS, Jan 9 (Reuters) - Mauritius’ year-on-year inflation rate jumped to 4.2 percent in December from 3.6 percent in the previous month, the statistics office said on Tuesday.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages and transport costs were the main contributors to the increase in the consumer price index in December, statistics Mauritius said in a statement (Reporting by Jean Paul Arouff; Editing by Maggie Fick)
