BOJ, MOF, FSA meet to discuss markets - MOF

TOKYO, March 25 (Reuters) - Officials from the Bank of Japan, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and the Financial Services Agency (FSA) met on Monday to discuss global financial markets, the MOF said.

The meeting of the executives, including Japan’s top currency diplomat Masatsugu Asakawa, is not scheduled in advance but is held once every few months.

It is typically held when financial markets are making sharp moves, and considered by market participants as a warning by policymakers against excessive market volatility. (Reporting by Leika Kihara; Editing by Kim Coghill)
