ALGIERS, June 12 (Reuters) - Algeria’s Supreme Court on Wednesday placed former transport and public works minister in custody over alleged corruption, state TV reported.

He is the second senior politician to be detained by the court, which placed former Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia in custody earlier in the day after a hearing also concerning suspected involvement in corruption. (Reporting by Hamid Ould Ahmed; Editing by Alison Williams)
