(Corrects spelling in paragraph 1 to Kefi, from Kesi)
TUNIS, Feb 21 (Reuters) - Tunisia has appointed Mouldi Kefi as foreign minister, replacing Ahmed Ounaiss who resigned on Feb. 13 after a row over compliments he paid to his French opposite number, an official source told Reuters on condition of anonymity.
An official announcement is expected later on Monday.
Ounaiss had said he had always dreamed of meeting French Foreign Minister Michele Alliot-Marie, a comment that angered many Tunisians who accuse France of being too close to Tunisia’s ousted administration. (Reporting by Tarek Amara; writing by Richard Valdmanis)
