WASHINGTON, March 20 (Reuters) - The United States expects to conduct more strikes on Libya, a senior U.S. military official said on Sunday, as the Western-led military operation against Muammar Gaddafi unfolded.
“This is an ongoing military operation. I fully expect more strikes,” the official said on condition of anonymity.
The official also said that General Carter Ham, the head of U.S. Africa Command currently heading the coordinated operations against Gaddafi, was “working very hard to effect transition in the next few days” to coalition leadership. (Reporting by Missy Ryan; Editing by Paul Simao)
